Originally complied by Duncan McFarlan. This work has been edited and added to by editors at Geddes and Grosset. McFarlan was born 1771 in Auchengray and he was ordained in Drymen in 1792. He had gained a MA at Glasgow University, and then a divinity degree. He was a popular preacher and progressed to preaching in the Church of Scotland, St Mungo’s Cathedral and then became Principal of Glasgow University and Vice Chancellor. Also he was Dean of Faculties.
