Prepared by whisky writer Neil Wilson and James McEwan, this map is fully updated and features every whisky distillery in production in Scotland, along with those that have closed since 1960.

Newly revised and updated, this 2024 edition of 'The Malt Whisky Map of Scotland' features every whisky distillery in Scotland listed as either 'In Production' or 'In Progress'.  Those that became 'silent' sometime after 1960 are also detailed, as well as the eight working grain distilleries that currently operate. In all, over 140 producing malt whisky distilleries are included, with another 11 that are shortly to come on stream.

In full colour (with a wealth of distillery information on the reverse) the map gives a full view of the whisky producing regions of Scotland. The regional boundaries of these have been redrawn in an attempt to simplify this aspect of the industry. James McEwan’s unique notes are incorporated on the reverse along with a distillery directory, website addresses, cooperage notes, cask information, Landranger OS map references, some interesting distillery terms and a Highland distilling licence from 1793.

 The map shows distilleries that have visitor facilities, with their details on the rear of the map. So if your interest is purely academic, or that of an enthusiast and whisky lover, this new map will be essential for your bookshelf or library wall. This is the fourth edition of this map by Neil Wilson. Details of gin producing distilleries is also included. Most of the gin distilled in the UK is made in Scotland.
