We are often asked about the paper quality we use in the Waverley Commonplace Notebooks by people who have not yet bought one. Emails each week ask:

Is the paper fountain-pen friendly?

Will the paper be smooth or rough?

Will fountain-pen ink bleed?

A: Paper - it's FSC, and the weight used in the notebooks is always 80gsm FSC cream woodfree ( which means there is no mechanical pulp).

The paper used in the Guest Book is FSC, a bit heavier (thicker) and is 90gsm FSC cream.

Ink: Yes, the notebooks are fountain-pen friendly. At Waverley we are all notebook users and passionate about stationery. But don't take it from us - please take a look at these blogs:

We are grateful for all the work that goes into blogs and reviews, and we thank Amanda, Gary and Woodclinched for their support. We love to hear from you and your views. We also are looking at if we can produce some blank notebooks for next year in the tartan bindings so watch this space, please!
