Author Jerry Brannigan to speak at the Robert Burns Studies Annual Conference
New Year's been and gone and suddenly - it's Burns' time again...
Pleased to let you know that Jerry Brannigan, co-author of 'Robert Burns in Edinburgh' will be a guest speaker at the forthcoming Centre for Robert Burns Studies Annual Conference, which will take place on Saturday 14th January at the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum in Alloway.
In
2014 Jerry delivered the Burns Scotland Lecture on the background to a
‘new’ painting of Robert Burns, believed to be by Alexander Nasmyth and
Jerry will update the Conference with the culmination of almost 4 years
of research during which he has examined all 4 Nasmyth paintings of
Burns as well as many other Nasmyth Landscapes and sketches.
Titled,
'The Shaw Burns, Alexander Nasmyth and the Masonic Connections',
Jerry's talk contains new information that will prove to be surprising,
informative and possibly controversial.”
