Welcome to our latest news
Thanks for reading our October newsletter. As the stormy days arrive in Scotland, we are looking forward to several events: this weekend, WIgtown Book Festival has invited John McShane, co-author of Robert Burns in Edinburgh to speak on Sunday about his career in comics; we are preparing for the world's biggest book fair in Frankfurt, from 20th October. In late September author Sue Reid Sexton gave an event at Glasgow's Women's Library for her book Writing on the Road and was interviewed by the BBC - a piece that made the news later on BBC2. Author Jerry Brannigan, who led on the writing of Robert Burns in Edinburgh, gave a talk at the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum, Alloway.
We also have the news that Harper, a gift distributor for the publishers Penguin RandomHouse, Chronicle and Moleskine in the USA, will distribute the Waverley real cloth tartan commonplace notebooks that we have produced with the partnership of Kinloch Anderson, into gift stores and other outlets. The notebooks are already on sale in the USA through Interlink, and American customers can buy them now from Interlink - see the link here: http://www.interlinkbooks.com/pages.php?page=order
Last week we met over 20 library authorities and school librarians at an event organised by The Reading Agency. In the afternoon was a business speed meet session and everyone enjoyed it with mutual learning on both sides about all the changes in the library system in Scotland and a chance to show our books to the key buyers. We also attended a book fair in London, Islington, where we met many of top book exporters. Buyers travelled from the USA, Romania, Iran, Ghana, Germany, Trinidad, France, Canada, Russia, Ireland, as well all parts of the UK. We thank all our customers, including you, our team, authors, and everyone we connect with for the chance to build new relationships, and to appreciate and sell our books.
We wish you a great month ahead, and look forward to updating you on our news before Halloween!

‘Writing on the Road’ is a book with a difference. It’s a charming blend of travel journal, a guide to enjoying the moment, learning how to survive as a woman on your own and how to carve out the space and time to write. Sue’s book is a very honest and moving story… Her innate courage and humour shine through. ‘
Sue will appear at Waterstone's Oban on Saturday 7th May at 2pm to sign copies of her book.
